How Vitamins and Minerals help the body

Vitamins and Minerals are essential nutrients. Vitamins are made by living things, while minerals are found on earth. They perform hundreds of roles in our body. Whereas all vitamins are needed by the body, but only some minerals are required for nutrition. They help secure our bones, heal wounds, give a boost to our immune system, and they convert food consumed by us in our body into energy.

They also repair cellular damage. They help your bodily functions to perform properly. Each vitamin and mineral helps the human body in different ways.

Vitamins are : A, B, C, D, E, K. Vitamin A helps our eyes and immune system. Vitamin B is a group of Vitamins, which helps getting energy out of Carbohydrates, Fats and Proteins consumed by us.

They also help in the growth of our body and making our blood stream healthy. On food labels, when you see Thiamin, Niacin, folic acid and B-12, these are all types of Vitamin-B. Vitamin-D, helps your body absorb calcium and protects your bone health and bone damage plus our teeth. Vitamin-C nourishes your skin cells and can improve skin health. Vitamin-E protects our skin cells. Vitamin-K helps your blood and bone health.

Though there are a lot of minerals, the main ones which our body requires are: Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, and Zinc. Iodine. Minerals do different jobs for our body keeping our muscles, healthy, heart, and brain working properly. Minerals are also important for making enzymes and hormones. There are two kinds of minerals: macro-minerals and trace-minerals. They support our immune system and our bodily functions. They help our body glands and body organs.

To have your essential Vitamins and Minerals you got to intake proper and varied food. In your daily diet you must include fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, eggs, nuts, grains, cereals, dairy food, and should always eat healthy. For optimal health you must never compromise on your health issues ever.

If you are eating a balanced diet, your body might be getting all the adequate amount which it needs to stay healthy fully, but if your diet is not balanced or its restricted, then you may need a multivitamin or dietary supplement. Though you must ask your doctor or health experts before taking any medicine.
